Paul 'Porp' – the songwriting soul
Paul, affectionately known as Porp, has been immersed in music since childhood. His creative spark ignited early, leading him to compose and write songs on guitar from his teenage years. Porp’s original compositions have fuelled the repertoires of countless bands and have been featured in hundreds of his solo gigs. His dedication to crafting meaningful lyrics and melodies is at the very core of Seymour Stocks' unique sound.
Genevieve 'Pinky' the melodic heart
Born with an innate talent for performance, Genevieve, or Pinky as she's also known, has always been destined to play and sing. Her musical journey began with piano lessons in her youth. After becoming a mum, she rekindled her passion for study, eventually becoming an IRMT registered piano teacher. It was Porp who recognised her extraordinary musical talent and encouraged her to lend her unique voice to their shared musical endeavours, bringing a new dimension to his compositions.
The serendipitous beginning of Seymour Stocks
The genesis of Seymour Stocks is a tale of serendipity and shared passions. After amicably separating from his previous partner, Porp sought a new home while his tiny house was being built. Through a mutual friend, Michelle, he connected with Genevieve, sharing an interest in veganism and, crucially, a deep love for music.
Porp arrived at Genevieve’s door with his scruffy old dog, George, and a delicious vegan lunch. Soon, Porp became Genevieve’s housemate for three months, and it wasn't long before their impromptu performances for AirBnB guests delighted everyone.
Genevieve, always dreaming of being a professional singer, was encouraged by Porp to take the stage with him at the Vegan Night Market, where he performed Animal Rights songs monthly. And just like that, Seymour Stocks was born.
